The selected colors are in the very muted part of the color space, useful for large areas of background color. To use one of these colors, download the GIF and make a pattern of a 32 x 32 region of the it. Note that some patterns have more visible structure than others, especially in the cyan-blue region and in the orange. Look at any such pattern on a laptop display before using it - LCD displays make such pattern much more visible.
