Dick Penn's Camper Van Trip

Many years ago, I conceived the idea of going off on a long trip, living in a camper van - working some of the time, being a tourist at other times. The idea was to check in with the Internet from time to time, upload some work, download some money, and carry on. At the time, it was more of an escape fantasy than a real plan, but now I have long-term clients who don't need me to be close by, and I have the resources to buy a van, I thought 'Why not?'. Not having a good answer to that question, here I go!

At first, I was looking at travelling in the USA, and that would certainly seem the most comfortable route. It's easier to get around, vans are generally bigger, the sites have more facilities, and you can get workable satellite Internet. The downside was*, I had a long list of places I wanted to see in Europe, and not such a long one for the USA. So, this trip is based on the assumption that the attractions will outweigh the difficulties, and that adventure will ensue. Check later to see how I get on with the isolation, the mud, the fog, etc. etc....
